In contrast to coverage of the Firehall Replacement Project earlier in 2025 (which largely reiterated curated, promotional messaging crafted by the District), in December 2025 an article was published that directly addressed unresolved concerns from the broader Metchosin public. This December article was criticized in a letter to the Editor, published in the January 2026 issue of the Muse. In turn, a rebuttal to the January 2026 letter to the Editor was printed in the February 2026 edition of the Muse.

These three successive, published pieces help to bracket the views and the concerns being expressed by community residents. All three pieces are reprinted here for reader convenience.
